Veterans Impacted by JOB LOSS
At Respond and Restore Mental Health, we recognize the unique challenges faced by veterans who have been affected by layoffs. The intersection of military service and sudden unemployment can exacerbate existing mental health conditions and create new stressors. Research indicates that veterans experiencing job loss are at a heightened risk for mental health issues, including depression and anxiety [AJPM Focus, 2024]. Our dedicated services aim to provide comprehensive support to help veterans navigate this difficult transition.
Our Specialized Services Include:
- Comprehensive Mental Health Evaluations: Assessing the psychological impact of job loss and identifying any exacerbation of service-related conditions.
- Individual and Group Therapy: Providing a safe space to process emotions, share experiences, and develop coping strategies alongside peers.
- Medication Management: Evaluating and managing medications to address symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions.
- Employment Support Services: Assisting with resume building, job search strategies, and connecting veterans to employment resources such as the U.S. Department of Labor's VETS program.
- Resource Navigation: Guiding veterans to additional support services, including housing assistance and financial counseling through programs like the VA's Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF).
Our goal is to provide holistic, compassionate care that addresses both the immediate and long-term needs of veterans affected by layoffs. By offering tailored support, we aim to empower veterans to navigate this challenging period with resilience and hope.
